Dwight N. Hopkins, phd

Senior Advisor

Dwight N. Hopkins is a Senior Advisor at Arcis Capital Partners and its affiliates. He is based in Chicago.

Dwight is the Founding Director of the Environmental, Social, and Governance Research Initiative Center at the University of Chicago (esgric.center.uchicago.edu). The Center conducts education, training, and implementation of ESG assessments.

Dwight brings years of cross cultural and global experiences to facilitate international business connections. As the chief executive officer, he founded and built a 14-country non-profit network inclusive of Asia, the Pacific, western Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, South America, and the USA.

He sits on the board of the Global Corporate Social Responsibility Foundation. The Foundation brings together leaders in business, finance, politics, education, culture, and international organizations to carry out education, consulting, and impact investing in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Dwight has taught at Renmin University (Beijing, China) and at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (Dalian, China).

Dwight is the Alexander Campbell Professor at the University of Chicago where he co-teaches a class on social entrepreneurship, with a former Hedge Fund owner. 

He earned his B.A. from Harvard University, two Ph.D. degrees, and an Executive M.B.A. from Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University). At Kellogg, he was chosen to be a Youn Impact Scholar, an elite group of Kellogg students and alums energized for social impact investing.
